Meet Our Trainers

Hello! I'm Mila. I trained my first pony at the age of 8. My grandmother gifted me a 3-year-old pony named Mini-Mini. She was quite a handful, but I cherished every moment with her. As I outgrew her, I developed an interest in "troubled" horses, and since then, I've worked with green-broke or "troubled" horses. I have been trained by Josh Lyons, Jessie Westfall, and Dawn Chambers, focusing on body control, collection, and all-around ranch riding. I also spent a few months in Texas with a professional barrel racer, Lauren Kelly. I particularly enjoy training horses to move every part of their body on command, equipped with all the fancy buttons, yet desensitized enough to safely carry children. My most significant training achievements are with Ada and Ned. Ada was a 3-year-old Hancock-bred mare, terrified of everything and labeled "dangerous." I broke her bareback with a halter, and by the third ride, she was cantering with a sliding stop. After about a year, I sold her to my 11-year-old student. She's now 13 and participates in 4H and gaming. Ned was completely wild when he arrived. He would strike at me every day for about 2 weeks whenever I tried to enter his stall. But within 90 days, he was walking, trotting, cantering, and safe enough for his beginner owner to ride him confidently. Providing someone with the opportunity to bond with a confident horse also boosts their confidence as a rider, and knowing I am the reason for that brings me joy. 

Hello! My name is Lexi, and I've been riding for about 10 years. I've trained with Josh Lyons, Bandi Lyons, Jessie Westfall, and Dawn Chambers, specializing in Body Control and Natural Horsemanship. My horse, Monkey, was unbroke when I purchased him. Through our joint learning experience, he has become an extraordinary horse, highly responsive and in tune with every movement of my body. My passion lies in enabling riders to experience the smoothest ride possible, where with a mere lift of a finger, their horse is in sync and responsive without hesitation. When I started with Monkey, he was frightened of his own shadow. Working with such an unpredictable horse has driven me to elevate desensitizing techniques, transforming scared horses into bomb-proof, child-safe companions. I have a particular fondness for trail riding as well; I appreciate a horse that is surefooted and confident, capable of walking through any type of terrain. My pony, Paisley, was a wild yearling when I acquired her, I found my love for the "evil" ponies. I enjoy the opportunity to help ponies break the cycle of stubbornness and obstinacy.
